Kihon Ippon Kumite - 'Basic One Step Sparring'
"Kara-te-ni-San- te-Nashi" There is no first attack in Karate Kihon Ippon Kumite is a training method designed to help practitioners master a range of skills, such as body shifting, proper stances, and offensive and defensive technical abilities. When practicing Kihon Ippon Kumite special care needs to be taken to ensure that movements are performed correctly, with proper breathing and posture, otherwise technique, power and spirit will be diminished. In Kihon Ippon Kumite, the attacking techniques and targets are pre-determined and attacks are executed one time with only one attacking technique and followed up by one defensive counter attacking sequence to complete the drill.
